Refractory Products
We manufacture high temperature mortars servicing refractory and petrochemical industries. Also supplied are dry mortars, fibre mastics, mica sheets and refractory beads.
Mortar Range
Mortar | Description |
---|---|
AT Cement | Siliceous Mortar for jointing firebricks in normal oxidising conditions. Since this material has a very low alumina content it does not form a eutectic and cause the brick to melt. |
ROCKSET | General purpose high strength Mortar for use up to 1600°. Rockset is a grey/brown mortar containing Alumina. |
BR5 | Extra strong, high purity cement for super-duty firebrick and insulating brick. BR5 is white in colour. |
BR6 | Water retentive Mortar for insulating bricks and fibre blanket. BR6 is white in colour. |
DRY ROCKSET | Dry version of Rockset. |
DRY BR5 | Dry version of BR5. |

Micasil
Micasil-C
Micasil-C is an electro-thermal insulation sheet. It is a flexible composite material consisting of phlogopite mica paper layers bonded with silicone resin.Micasil-C is mainly recommended as slip plane insulation between the crucible and the induction coil in induction furnaces and other thermal applications.
Micasil-P
Micasil-P is an electro-thermal insulation sheet. It is a flexible composite material consisting of phlogopite mica paper layers bonded with silicone resin. Micasil-P is mainly recommended as slip plane insulation between the crucible and the induction coil in induction furnaces and other thermal applications.

Silroc - Fire Putty
Application
Silroc is a ready-to-use, plastic refractory putty/mouldable.
Chemical Composition
Silroc is a very low iron, siliceous product having a typical Iron Oxide content of 0.5% and Silica content of 72.0%.
Classification
Silroc has a mean permanent linear change of 2% when fired to 1000°C (=CT). It is not advisable to use Silroc beyond a maximum service temperature of 1200°C (=MST).

Zircon Wash
Application
Zircon Wash (L546D) is a “dry powder”, refractory “wash”, which requires mixing with water before use. The amount of water needed is dependent on the method of application (brushing or spraying being commonly used), the thickness required per application and personal preference.
As an approximate guide 1kg of wash would need 1 litre of water; mixing can be achieved readily by hand, but some means of mechanical assistance is preferred for complete dispersion.
Classification
It is not advisable to use Zircon Wash (L546D) beyond a maximum service temperature of 1600°C (=MST).
